Importance of the topic
Just Food, in partnership with Box Of Life, brings this exciting workshop on using worms to make compost! Composting with red wiggler earthworms is easy, odour and bug free, and one of the quickest ways to create organic fertilizer from kitchen scraps. Why throw food into landfill when you can be a compost hero instead?
Meet the Facilitator
Akil from The Box of Life will be your facilitator for this workshop. The Box Of Life is an Ottawa based social enterprise that empowers communities to build healthy soil from food waste, by designing and building beautiful vermi-composters.
What will the workshop cover?
This workshop focuses on what you need to know to build your own vermicomposing system at home. It covers the basics of designing and running a vermi-composter. You can bring your questions and get tips for your system, too.
How will the workshop be structured?
This interactive online webinar will begin with a “classroom session” with lots of pictures, followed by a demonstration and Q&A with the instructor. *Note that there will be a chat feature which you will be able to use to ask questions during the workshop!
