Just Food, in partnership with Amber Westfall of the Wild Garden, presents this workshop for adding good and healing herbs into your gardening project, and to introduce those ‘weeds’ that might be worth keeping! Do not miss this inspiring session with Amber that may just elevate your relationship with your garden plants to a new level.
Meet the facilitator
Amber is an experienced forager, wildcrafter and gardener. Drawing on traditional techniques of tending the wild and permaculture design, Amber uses regenerative growing and harvesting methods with the goal of co-creating vibrant, healthy and diverse ecosystems. She is the founder of The Wild Garden in Ottawa. Amber teaches herbal workshops and leading plant walks, where she teaches the wild edible and herbal plants of the Ottawa area, and shares ancient ways of healing and making herbal remedies.
“I love introducing people to the amazing, beautiful and useful plants growing all around us. I love to see the transformation that occurs when people realise how surrounded we are by abundant, nutritious, edible and medicinal plants, even in an urban environment.” Herbally Yours, Amber, The Wild Garden
How will the workshop be structured?
During this workshop, Amber will introduce how to plant herbs in your garden, and use them to make herbal remedies. She will also talk about wild edible plants commonly seen in the Ottawa gardens and referred to as ‘weeds’ - how to be at peace with these useful plants.
This interactive online webinar will begin with a “classroom session” with lots of pictures, followed by demonstration and Q&A with the instructor. *Note that there will be a chat feature which you will be able to use to ask questions during the workshop!
